INDIANAPOLIS - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference has named Ursuline's Vanessa Consiglio the conferences Women's Soccer Athlete of the Week following her performances in a pair of wins against Kentucky Wesleyan and Trevecca as the Arrows opened conference play.

Vanessa Consiglio has been named the conferences Women’s Soccer Athlete of the Week for the first time this season, and has earned Ursuline its second honor in three weeks. This is first time the junior has earned the distinction. Over the last week, the Arrows secured a pair of G-MAC wins in the opening week of the conference schedule behind the efforts of Consiglio, improving to 5-1 on the season and 2-0 in conference with wins over Kentucky Wesleyan and Trevecca.
In the first game of the conference schedule, Ursuline welcomed Kentucky Wesleyan to Pepper Pike, where Consiglio broke a scoreless tie in the 73rd minute and proved to be the game-winner in a 2-0 shutout victory.
On Saturday, Consiglio assisted on the the game’s first goal, a cross into the box which last week’s Athlete of the Week Paige Rowan put past the goalkeeper. Later Consiglio capped the scoring in a 4-1 win with her fourth goal of the season, assisted on by Cassie Cripe who also scored two goals and an assist on the week.
Consiglio is second on the team with four goals and 12 points, but leads the way with four assists. Her rankings are very similar among the conference leaders as she is second in goals, assists, and points.
