James Pucci, the reigning G-MAC Male Athlete of the Year, has been named the G-MAC Men’s Soccer Athlete of the Week for the first time in 2014. Despite a difficult start to the season against an extremely difficult schedule and a 0-1-1 record on the week, Pucci helped secure a double overtime tie against one of the nation’s best.

In the team’s mid-week contest against Notre Dame, the Senators dropped a difficult 1-0 decision, but rebounded over the weekend to post a 2-2 double overtime tie against Millersville. In the game, Pucci scored a goal and assisted on the team’s other goal to secure the tie.

So far this season, Davis & Elkins has faced Notre Dame, Millersville, Quincy, and Tiffin - three of the four made an NCAA Tournament appearance last season and the fourth is currently ranked in the 25 this season.

So far this season, Pucci has scored two of the teams four goals and collected the teams only assist. He is in a three-way tied for the conference lead in points and a four-way tie for the top spot in goals scored despite a very difficult schedule.
