INDIANAPOLIS - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference has named Lise Couturier (P) of Salem International and Regan Drake (1B) of Alderson Broaddus the Softball Pitcher and Offensive Athlete of the Week.

Softball Offensive Athlete of the Week

Regan Drake
Alderson Broaddus University (@ABBattlers)
Senior - First Base
Oregon City, Oregon- Oregon City High School

Regan Drake has been named the Softball Offensive Athlete of the Week for the second time this season after an impressive week at the plate for the Battlers, who went 3-1 last week in G-MAC play to improve to 13-7 in conference and in a tie for third place in the conference standings with Cedarville.

In the four games last week, Drake hit a conference-high .750 with a 1.500 slugging percentage and a matching .750 on-base percentage. She led the conference (tied) with a pair of home runs and also led the way with 18 total bases. She recorded nine total hits, but more impressive was that five of them went for extra bases (two home runs and three doubles).

Drake’s overall stats were impressive, but her timing was even more important to her team’s success. In AB's 8-6 win over Salem, Drake got the offense started with a home run in the first and then drove in the game-winning runs in the sixth on a two-out single. Drake also had the go-ahead hit in the Battlers 10-5 win over Ohio Valley as the team trailed 5-4. It was her two-run homer that gave AB a 6-5, a lead they would never relinquish.
On the season, Davis is now tied for the league lead in doubles (13). She is also third with seven home runs and fourth with 77 total bases.
