Rhodes named honorable mention All-American

OWENSBORO, Ky. - (courtesy of @KWCPanthers) Kentucky Wesleyan's Karly Rhoads received honorable mention All-American recognition by Division II Bulletin.

She marks the third Panther in KWC women's basketball history to received All-American honors.

The 2014 Great Midwest Athletic Conference Player of the Year Award led the Panthers in scoring (15.0), field goal percentage (53.0), three-pointers (42), three-point percentage (42.9), free throw percentage (82.7), assists (107), blocks (12), steals (38) and minutes played (30.6) in starting all 29 games.

Rhoads, a 5-foot-11 senior guard from Slippery Rock, Pa. (Slippery Rock Area HS), topped the league in field goal percentage and ranks No. 29th in the NCAA for field goal percentage.

She also averaged 3.3 rebounds. The four-year starter scored in double-figures 21 times including five 20-point outings and a 32-point performance against Davis & Elkins on Jan. 9.

In the career record book, Rhoads hold the records for free throw shooting (81.9) and games played (115). She also ranks eighth in three-pointers (112) and blocks (36); ninth in points (1,209) and field goals (435).

KWC finished the season with a 21-8 record and the GMAC Championship, their first league title in history.
