INDIANAPOLIS - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference has named James Anderson and Jenny Brewer of Alderson Broaddus University the Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week.

Men’s Track & Field: Athlete of the Week

James Anderson has been named G-MAC Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week after his performance at the Charlotte 49er Classic.  
 
As the outdoor season just recently opened up following the indoor season, many of the marks established by Anderson are early, but they are also impressive. Currently in the G-MAC performance list for Outdoor Track & Field, Anderson leads the conference in nine different events - many of those due to his performance in the Decathlon.
 
At the 49er Classic, Anderson finished second among Division II competitors in the decathlon. In a field of 17 athletes, Anderson placed fifth or better in the 400-meter (5th), 1500-meter (2nd), Discus (4th), and Javelin (2nd). All events he leads the conference in as well.

Women’s Track and Field: Athlete of the Week

Jenny Brewer has been named the Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week after her performance at the Charlotte 49er Classic.  
 
Brewer finished 17th overall in the 5,000 meter run, in a field of 80 runners. Her time of 18:02.00 leads the way early in the season in the G-MAC by over 53 seconds. Her time was also a personal best time by 30 seconds.
