INDIANAPOLIS - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference has named Ashley Crooke (INF) and Josalyn Ress (P) of Kentucky Wesleyan College the Softball Offensive and Pitcher of the Week, respectively.

Ashley Crooke has been named the Softball Offensive Athlete of the Week for the first time this season. Crooke earned this week’s honor after producing a stellar week at the plate leading her team to a 3-3 week against some tough opponents, including #10 North Georgia.
 
On the week, Crooke went 5-12 over the six games. She reached base in all six games last week, and recorded a hit in the final five games of last week. She hit .417, while posting a .438 on-base percentage and a .667 slugging percentage.
 
In the six contests she had three doubles and three runs batted in. She also scored four times.
 
Crooke experienced her best week of the season through 20 games. In the first 14 games, she hit .200 with six runs, five RBI, and two doubles - so hitting .417 with four runs, three RBI, and three doubles over six games is a dramatic improvement for the junior.

Softball Pitcher of the Week

Josalyn Ress has been named G-MAC Softball Pitcher Athlete of the Week for the second time this season after a solid week in the pitching circle for the Panthers. In a week where the Panthers went 3-3, Ress went 2-1 with her only defeat coming against #10 North Georgia.
 
Ress pitched a conference leading 18 innings over three games, going the distance twice, resulting in her two wins. In her wins over Oakland City and Union (Ky.), she combined to pitch 14 innings allowing one earned run on six hits. She totaled 13 strikeouts as her team needed the dominate performances to hold onto 3-2 and 2-0 wins.
 
Her performance didn’t stop in the pitching circle, she also went 5-12 (.417) at the plate with a run and two runs batted in.
 
On the season, Ress leads her team with a .407 batting average (11-27) at the plate, and four wins on the rubber. She has thrown a team-high 31 strikeouts.
