LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Lady Jackets are ranked #24 in the latest NFCA Division II Softball Poll, thus becoming the first CU women's team in any sport to achieve an NCAA Top 25 ranking. The school is in its second year as an active Division II member.

The National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division II Top 25 Poll is voted on by 16 NCAA Division II head coaches with two representing each of the eight NCAA regions.

The Lady Jackets garnered attention by rolling to a 12-3 record during spring break last week in Clermont, Fla. They played in the Dot Richardson Spring Games at the NTC Softball Complex.

Cedarville's most notable victory was a 14-9 triumph over then #20 Grand Valley State (Mich.). In that game, the Jackets rallied from a 6-3 deficit with a 10-run sixth inning.

Besides GVSU, Cedarville also defeated GLIAC members Lake Erie, Saginaw Valley State, and Walsh. The Jackets tripped up GLVC schools Lewis and Quincy.

All 15 opponents in Florida were Division II members. Cedarville's three losses were each by a single run. The Lady Jackets are scheduled to host Ashland in their home opener this Saturday. The twinbill will start at 1:00 p.m.
