INDIANAPOLIS - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference has named Adam Kline of Alderson Broaddus University the Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week after helping the Battlers win the G-MAC conference championship.

Adam Kline, who was recognized last week as the G-MAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Year, lived up to the honor and has been named the G-MAC Men’s Basketball Athlete of the Week following the 2013-14 G-MAC Men’s Basketball Championships. Kline, who led his team to the conference championship as the tournament’s top seed and host, led his team with 15.0 points per game and 10.3 rebounds a game over the three wins.

The Battlers opened the tournament with a 107-70 win over Ohio Valley in the quarterfinals. Kline was one of seven players in double-figures for ABU, scoring 11 points in 27 minutes. He also grabbed a team and tournament high 16 rebounds in the win. In the semifinals, Kline scored a game-high 21 points on 9-12 shooting with six rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and a steal. His .750 shooting percentage in the contest was a single-game high in the tournament.

In the championship finals against Kentucky Wesleyan, Kline scored a team-high (tying) 13 points and had a game-high (tying) nine rebounds. His biggest contribution came down the stretch as the Battlers trailed by three with under two minutes remaining in the game. Trailing 60-56, Kline hit a pair of free throws and then converted on a three-point play (lay-up and free throw) to tie the game at 61-61 and started the 9-1 run to close the game for ABU, who won 65-61.
