PHILIPPI, W.Va. (courtesy of @ABBattlers) -- Central State University took advantage of early foul trouble and snapped Alderson Broaddus's 12-game winning streak on Thursday with a 80-78 decision at Rex Pyles Arena.

Alderson Broaddus sophomore Richard Lemon fouled out midway through the second half and senior Adam Kline played limited minutes and joined him on the bench with five personal fouls of his own late in the game.

Lemon was one of ABU's top scorers and netted 19 points in the loss. He was 7-for-9 from the field, notched a block and grabbed five rebounds. The Battlers walked a tightrope in the opening half as Kline was forced to sit out most of the period. ABU led 34-33 at the break, despite shooting 39 percent from the field. CSU shot 50 percent from the floor in the first 20 minutes.

Central State's Anthony Adams Rule was the Marauders' top offensive weapon and took advantage of Kline's absence as he cleaned up the boards and came away with a team-high 10 rebounds to go with his team-high 19 points.

ABU knocked down 61 percent of its shots after halftime and sophomore Thylas Perkins shined under pressure. Perkins scored 19 points, was 3-for-4 from long distance and pulled down five boards.

With the loss, the Battlers slip to 7-1 in conference and into a first place tie with Kentucky Wesleyan, who is 8-1 on the season. ABU does hold the tiebreaker at this point with its head-to-head victory over the Panthers, but the two teams do have one contest remaining this season (Feb. 22).

Central State improved to 5-2 and is still in contention for the top overall seed after splitting the season series with ABU, and one game left against Kentucky Wesleyan (Feb. 15).
