INDIANAPOLIS - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference has named Richard Lemon of Alderson Broaddus University the Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week after helping the Battlers extend their win streak to 12-straight.

Richard Lemon has been named the G-MAC Men’s Basketball Athlete of the Week for the first time in his career. He is the second Battlers men’s basketball player to receive the honor as the team’s 12-game winnings streak has produced the AOTW three of the last four weeks for Alderson Broaddus.

Lemon averaged 19.5 points per game to lead the team, and ranking seventh in conference play last week. His 10.5 rebounds per game led the G-MAC. He recorded a pair of double-doubles in two wins this past weekend. Against Bluefield State, he posted a game-high 22 points on 10-17 shooting (58.8%), and a team-high 11 rebounds. He also added four assists and two steals in 38 minutes. In the conference win over Davis & Elkins, Lemon led the way with a game-high 17 points, and grabbed ten boards. He went 8-12 from the field, and added three more steals, a block and an assists.

Lemon improved his scoring average to 10.9 points per game overall and 12.4 per game in conference games. He also now ranks second in the conference with 7.7 rebounds per game against G-MAC opponents and 7.3 rebounds per game per game overall. Lemon also has produced three-straight double-doubles over the last three games and six overall on the season, of which five have come during the 12-game win streak.
