INDIANAPOLIS - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference has named Jorden Lykes of Davis & Elkins College the Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week for the second time this season.

Jorden Lykes has been named the G-MAC Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week for the second time this season and the second time in the last month (Feb. 3) after helping her team to a win over Kentucky Wesleyan before falling to Trevecca Nazarene.
In the weekend’s first game, a double-overtime win over Kentucky Wesleyan, Lykes scored a game and career-high 31 points on 12-21 shooting. She also led the game with 15 rebounds. Trailing by two points with just seven seconds left, Lykes scored the game-tying bucket on a lay-up leaving just a second on the clock and forcing overtime. Despite not scoring in the first overtime, Lykes scored six of the team’s nine points in the second overtime, securing the victory with a rebound and two free throws in the final seconds of a 99-94 win.
In the teams loss to Trevecca Nazarene, Lykes totaled a game-high 20 points on 9-18 shooting. She also added seven rebounds and an assist. Here 51 points was the most scored in conference this past week, and her 25.5 points per game also led the G-MAC over the last week.
With her big scoring week, Lykes moved her scoring average to 14.3 points a game, and is now ranked in a tie for third for scoring, 1.1 points behind the league’s top scorer. She is also tied for third in rebounding with 7.5 boards a game.
