INDIANAPOLIS - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference has named Kaci Ovelgoenner (C) and Josalyn Ress (P) of Kentucky Wesleyan College, Softball's Offensive and Pitcher of the Week, respectively.

Kaci Ovelgoenner has been named the Softball Offensive Athlete of the Week after KWC recorded a pair of wins this past weekend at Missouri S&T. Ovelgoenner, in two starts, hit .571 (4-7) with a double, two home runs, five runs batted in, and an amazing 1.571 slugging percentage.
Her numbers over the two wins include a .625 on-base percentage and a perfect fielding percentage, recording nine putouts and an assist. In the first game of the double-header, Ovelgoenner went 3-4 with a double, a home run, two runs scored, and three RBI. She carried the team to a 7-0 win.
In the second game, a 8-2 win, she was 1-3 with another home run, a run scored, and two RBI.
On the season, she improved her average to .364 with a .682 slugging percentage and a .417 on-base percentage. She leads the team with nine RBI and two home runs. Her batting average is fifth in the conference, while her slugging ranks third. She is fifth with eight hits, first with nine RBI, tied for first with two home runs, and third with 15 total bases.

Josalyn Ress has been named G-MAC Softball Pitcher Athlete of the Week after her tremendous performance in a KWC win this weekend. Against Missouri S&T, Ress threw a complete game shutout, allowing just three hits and striking out seven.
The win extended the Panthers win streak to three in a row, getting the team to .500 at 4-4.
Ress, in her two previous starts had allowed 13 runs and struck out just two hitters. So to turn around and throw a complete game shutout and strike out seven, gave KWC the performance they needed to start a perfect 2-0 weekend.
On the season, Ress is second with 16.1 innings pitched and nine strikeouts.
