INDIANAPOLIS - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference has named Alex Richardson (OF) and Haley Fagan (P) of Trevecca Nazarene University, Softball's Offensive and Pitcher of the Week, respectively.

Alex Richardson has been named the Softball Offensive Athlete of the Week to kick off the 2014 regular-season, helping sweep the softball honors for the Trojans. Richardson has helped TNU start the season 4-2, including a big win over #7 Indianapolis over the weekend.
 
On the season, Richardson is batting .389 with seven hits, two doubles, two home runs, three runs scored and five driven in. She has totaled 15 bases, three walks, and is slugging .833 in six starts this season. Against nationally ranked UIndy, Richardson went 2-4 out of the leadoff spot. She scored a run and drove in three as she homered in the 6-4 win.
 
Her solo-home run in the third gave the team an early 3-2 lead. UIndy tied the game at 4-4 in the fifth, when Richardson’s two-run single gave the team its 6-4 lead and final score.
 
Richardson is in the top five in Batting Average (#3 - .389), Slugging Percentage (#1 - .833), On-Base Percentage (#2 - .476), hits (#3 - seven), RBI (#1 - five), Doubles (#2 - two), Home Runs (#1 - two), total bases (#1 - 15), and walks (#1 - three).

Softball Pitcher of the Week

Haley Fagan has been named G-MAC Softball Pitcher Athlete of the Week for the first time, kicking off the 2014 regular-season, helping sweep the honors for TNU softball. Fagan, who has made three starts in six games so far this season, earned her second win of the season in a win over nationally ranked #7 Indianapolis.

In the win, Fagan pitched a complete game, throwing seven innings. She allowed nine hits, four runs (three earned) in a 6-4 victory. She was impressive, attacking the talented line-up, striking out 11 batters out of 21 outs she had to record for the victory.
 
On the season, Fagan is 2-1 with a 3.54 earned run average. She has pitched 20.1 innings and recorded 24 strikeouts, compared to just eight walks. Opposing hitters are batting just .273 against her.  She ranks among the top three in the conference in earned run average, opposing batting average, innings pitched, strikeouts, and wins.
