Christina Curtner has been named the G-MAC Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week for the second time this season, with both honors coming in last three weeks as TNU has taken control of the top overall seed in the conference. Curtner helped guide her team to an important victory over Kentucky Wesleyan at home, giving the Trojans a one-game lead in the G-MAC standings over the Panthers.
Curtner helped Trevecca to a crucial 65-62 win over Kentucky Wesleyan as the Trojans improved to 13-7 overall and 10-1 in conference. Curtner scored all 15 of her points in the second half, while she totaled 10 rebounds, three assists, and two steals in the contest. She was 2-of-5 from beyond the arc and 5-for-5 at the charity stripe, with several key free throws coming late to help secure victory.
Trevecca is now on a seven-game winning streak, all conference games. They have won eight of their last night games, again all conference meetings. TNU also now controls the tiebreaker with KWC, winning both meetings from the #2 team in the conference standings.
Curtner leads the team with 4.1 assists per game, which also ranks fourth in the conference. She is third on the team with 11.0 points per game, ranking 18th in the G-MAC. She is also third in in assist-to-turnover ratio (+1.5).
