GREENWOOD, Ind. – A near triple-double and one of the season’s top individual scoring efforts landed Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Athlete of the Week accolades for Trevecca guard Byron Sanford.

The rising junior netted 20.5 points on over 68 percent shooting (15-of-22), 7.5 rebounds and seven assists per game as the Trojans matched up against Missouri S&T and McKendree, both members of the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

He also pulled in six rebounds, dished out five assists and recorded a pair of steals, as the Trojans were on the short end of a 10-point final.

The following day, the Trojans handed the Bearcats of McKendree their first loss of the season as Sanford was one point, one rebound and one assist away, from a coveted triple-double. He was 4-of-8 from the field as the Trojans nearly led wire-to-wire in Lebanon, Ill.
