11.4.14

INDIANAPOLIS - As the golf season cooled off in October, Trevecca’s Alexa Rippy stayed red hot.  The TNU sophomore posted a top-five finish in the final fall tournament for the Trojans and had another top-20 finish on her way to being named Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women's Golfer of the Month for the second-straight month.

Rippy helped her squad capture a fourth place finish in the Chick-fil-A Collegiate Invitational with a team-low score of 153 (78-75). Her two day total was her second best two-round performance the season.

Earlier in the month, Rippy tied for 18th in the Lee University Shootout by posting identical rounds of 80 and the Trojans finished 6th out of 13 teams.

Rippy was also named September’s Women’s Golfer of the Month by the G-MAC, making her the first repeat winner of the award in 2014 and overall it is the third time Rippy has taken home the monthly honor.
