GREENWOOD, Ind. - Fresh off the Great Midwest Athletic Conference regular-season volleyball crown, Cedarville University senior Hannah Wagner earned G-MAC Athlete of the Week honors for the second straight time.
Wagner averaged over five kills per set for her team, which has won six of its last seven matches.
Wagner and the Lady Jackets secured hosting privileges and the No. 1 seed for the postseason tournament (Nov. 13-15) as Cedarville took care of business on its home court against Central State and Ursuline last week.
The outside hitter came through with a career-high 26 kills to help defeat Ursuline on the road in a five-set decision on Saturday. She attacked for an outstanding .396 percentage on 48 attempts and added a pair of digs and a block.
As part of the Senior Night festivities against Central State while playing in her final regular-season home contest, Wagner was perfect in all 10 swings for 10 kills in just two sets played versus the Marauders.
Cedarville improved to 18-12 overall and has fashioned a 10-1 record in conference play before facing Findlay tomorrow to close out the regular season.
Wagner was the 2013 G-MAC Player of the Year. She currently ranks eighth in the league in kills per set and fifth in the G-MAC in total kills.
