GREENWOOD, Ind. - Kaysie Brittenham has been named the G-MAC Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week, giving the Lady Jackets their second-straight Athlete of the Week to start the season. Brittenham guided the team to a 2-1 week with wins over Tiffin on the road and then against Mount Vernon Nazarene at home, while leading the team in scoring in a losing effort at Bellarmine.
In the first two games of the week, on the road at Bellarmine and at Tiffin, Brittenham scored a team-high 28 points and 22 points respectively. Against Bellarmine she went 10-17 from the floor, including going 4-7 from long range. She added a team-high six rebounds, along with two assists and two steals.
In the team’s come-from-behind win at Tiffin, she led the team in scoring with 22 point on 9-15 shooting. She once again went 4-7 from long range, while adding four rebounds, four assists, and four steals.
The team trailed by 10 points with just over 10 minutes to play, she scored six of the next nine points for the Lady Jackets and assisted on the three-pointer. With 4:13 remaining she tied the game at 64-64 on a three-pointer, and then leading 67-66, she assisted on the final field goal of the game for Cedarville, which finished the game with four free throws to win 73-69.
In the final game of the week, Cedarville won 82-61 over MVNU, and in limited minutes Brittenham scored 11 points, including going 3-3 in the second half. She made three jumpers from behind the arc, had three rebounds, three assists, and five steals in the win.
For the week, she totaled 61 points (20.3 ppg), 13 rebounds, nine assists, and 11 steals, while shooting 55% (11-20) from long range. She now leads the G-MAC in steals (18) and three-pointers made (13). She is also second in assists to turnover ratio (15 assists to 10 turnovers).
