Vanessa Consiglio has been named the G-MAC Women’s Soccer Athlete of the Week for the second time this season after leading her team to a pair of wins, including a win over Cedarville to remain in first place in the conference standings at 7-1 with 21 points.
Against Marygrove, Consiglio scored the game’s second goal to give UC an 2-0 lead in the 60th minute. She then helped put the game away with two assists on the next two goals in the 63rd minute and the 71st minute. Ursuline went on to win 6-0.
Consiglio ended her week with a game-winning goal in the 88th minute of a scoreless meeting between Ursuline and Cedarville. She managed to fire six shots, with four being on net, before she put the final opportunity into the back of the net. After a scramble in front of the net, Consiglio found the ball and was able to slide it into an open net to win the game for the Arrows.
The goal was Consiglio’s 12th of the season and her two goals and two assists give her a conference-high 40 points on the season. She is second behind teammate Paige Rowan in goals with 12, as Rowan leads the nation in scoring with 15 goals. Consiglio leads the conference and all of the NCAA (Divisions I, II, III) with 16 assists (tied with leader of DI), and leads Division II in points.
