KWC Freshman Goalkeeper Earns His First Men's Soccer AOTW Honors

INDIANAPOLIS - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference has named Panthers freshman goalkeeper Grant Allen the Men's Soccer Athlete of the Week after posting a conference season-high 12 saves in a tie against Maine - Fort Kent, and 18 saves overall in a 1-0-1 week.

Grant Allen has been named the G-MAC Men’s Soccer Athlete of the Week after helping the Panthers secure a 1-0-1 record this week, including a win in conference action.  After posting a 1-1 double overtime tie against University of Maine at Fort Kent, Allen carried his team to a win over Trevecca Nazarene 3-1.
 
Against, previously unbeaten (including no ties) Maine - Fort Kent, Allen made 12 saves, allowing just the one goal in 110 minutes of action. The tie was his second in three games.
 
Allen improved his freshman overall record to 4-4-2 with a 3-1 win over Trevecca, where he made six big saves in the contest.
 
On the season he now has a G-MAC best 78 saves and a conference best .830 save percentage. He is averaging 6.50 saves a game, including his conference single-game high of 12 against Maine - Fort Kent.
