Weekly Women's Basketball Award Winner

INDIANAPOLIS - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference has named Karly Rhoads of Kentucky Wesleyan College the Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week after she led her team to a pair of conference wins last week.

Karly Rhoads has been named the G-MAC Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week for the first time this season, but is the third different Lady Panther to be selected this season. Rhoads scored a conference season-high 32 points in a win over Davis and Elkins. She averaged 21 points per game last week in two conference wins as KWC remained a perfect 6-0 in G-MAC play.
 

Rhoads combined to shoot 71.4% from the floor on the week, converting on 15 of 21 shot attempts. She was also 7-7 from the free throw line, all coming against D&E, and was on the mark no matter where she shot from, shooting the same 71.4% (5-7) from long range.
 
Defensively, Rhoads recorded four steals, again all coming against D&E in the victory. She led (or tied for the lead) in games played last week with ten field goals made, 32 points, five 3-pointers made, and 83.3% shooting from long range (5-6), all against D&E.
 
With her 21 point scoring average last week, Rhoads improved her season average to 13.7 points per game and moved up the list to fourth in the conference in scoring. She is one of two players to have over 200 points scored this season. She also increased her shooting percentage to 53.8% (fifth best in conference), her free throw percentage to 88.2% (best in conference), and her three-point percentage to 48.8% (second best in conference).
