INDIANAPOLIS - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference has announced that for the second-straight week Kelsey Kemp and Breanna Zeis of Trevecca Nazarene University have been named G-MAC Softball Pitching and Offensive Athletes of the Week respectively.

Breanna Zeis has been named Softball Offensive Athlete of the Week for the fifth-straight week as she has posted her sixth-straight week of hitting .500 or better. Last week, Zeis helped guide Trevecca to a 3-1 week, including a doubleheader sweep of Urbana to remain percent at 10-0 and clinch the top seed and the right to host the 2013 G-MAC Softball Championship Tournament.
Zeis, who hit.500 this past week, actually lowered he conference leading average to .522 on the season. In four games this past week, she had a conference best slugging percentage of 1.000, on-base percentage of .600, five runs scored, two home runs, three walks, 12 total bases, to go with four RBI and six hits.
She continues to lead the conference in hits (47), RBI (36), doubles (13), home runs (8), total bases (86), on-base percentage (.573), slugging (.956), and hits per game (1.62).
In the last five weeks, in which she has been named Athlete of the Week for softball, Zeis is hitting .565 (39-69) with nine doubles, eight home runs, 23 runs scored, 33 runs batted in, nine walks with only two strikeouts.
In the last six weeks, which would subtract her first two weeks of action, Zeis’ totals in RBI, total bases, and home runs would still lead the league.

Kelsey Kemp has been named G-MAC Softball Pitcher of the Week for the second time and second-straight week, to two wins. Her first win of the week, was actually her fourth straight in four games for the Trojans. She improved to 7-2 overall, while helping TNU improve to 10-0 on the season in conference play and helped the team clinch the top seed and the right to host the 2013 G-MAC Softball Championship Tournament with its wins over Urbana.
Kemp pitched the final 21-straight innings for the Trojans last week earning her, her first G-MAC Softball Pitcher of the Week honor. The next contest for the Trojans, Kemp pitched another seven-inning complete game against Tennessee Wesleyan. She allowed just one run on four hits for her fourth-straight win in four games, pitching all 28 innings over the four-game stretch.
After a two-game break, Kemp returned throwing six innings against Urbana, allowing three runs on five hits. She struck out eight batters over the two-games, leading the G-MAC with her two wins last week. She has won five games in TNU last seven games, in which the team has gone 6-1.
On the season Kemp ranks tied for third in the conference with seven wins, ranks fourth in opposing batting average as hitters are hitting .238 against her, is fourth in strikeouts with 62. Her 7-2 record, which is a .778 winning percentage is the best winning percentage in the conference.
