INDIANAPOLIS - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference has announced that Kelsey Kemp and Breanna Zeis of Trevecca Nazarene University have been named G-MAC Softball Pitching and Offensive Athletes of the Week respectively.

Breanna Zeis has been named Softball Offensive Athlete of the Week for the fourth-straight week as she continues to guide the Trojans offense. Last week, Zeis helped guide Trevecca to a 4-2 week, including a doubleheader sweep of Cedarville to remain percent at 8-0 in conference play this season, sweeping all four contests this season against Cedarville.
Zeis who leads the conference in batting average on the season, raised her average after hitting .550 in six games last week, which was the highest average in the conference this past week. She had a conference best 11 hits, five doubles and a triple. She drove in a G-MAC-high 10 runs, scored six times and totaled 18 total bases.
She now leads the conference with her .526 batting average, with the second best average checking in at .456. Her 13 doubles and six home runs each lead the conference as well as her 74 total bases. As TNU has played only 25 games, Zeis’ at-bats are below most of the rest of the conference, but she her 1.64 hits per game lead the league, as do her doubles (0.52), home runs (0.24), and RBI (1.28) per game.
In the last four weeks, in which she has been named Athlete of the Week for softball, Zeis is hitting .579 (33-57) with nine doubles, six home runs, 18 runs scored, 29 runs batted in, six walks with only one strikeout, coming this past week.

Kelsey Kemp has been named G-MAC Softball Pitcher of the Week for the first time this season, after pitching her team to three-straight wins in the team’s last three games of the week. Overall, TNU was 4-2 last week, while Kemp was 3-0.
Kemp pitched the final 21-straight innings for the Trojans, giving up one run on 12 hits. She guided the team to an 8-1 win over Covenant, then a 1-0 and 2-0 complete game shutout victories of Cedarville to improve Trevecca to 8-0 in conference play. Against Covenant, she struck out 12 batters, while she totaled 21 strikeouts and no walks in the doubleheader against the Yellow Jackets.
Her 33 strikeouts in three games raised her season total to 54, which ranks fifth in the conference. This past week, opposing hitters hit just .160 against Kemp, which was the lowest average in the conference.
Kemp also recorded five hits, including two doubles in the six games last week. She scored three times and drove in three more. On the season, she is hitting .259 with 10 runs scored and 11 RBI.
