NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, South Carolina (courtesy of @UUsports) - The Urbana University softball team put the finishing touches on an undefeated Spring Break Trip with another shutout victory on Friday morning.

The Blue Knights blanked the Eagles from Robert Morris University-Springfield 8-0 in six innings to complete the perfect trip down south to the National Collegiate Softball Invitational.

Junior pitcher Haley Jo Kolmerten went the distance on the mound for the Blue Knights. Kolmerten threw a one-hitter while striking out 14 and walking only three batters. She allowed just one earned run in four wins on the mound during the week.

As a team, Urbana outscored its opponents 56-2 on Spring Break.

Against the Eagles, Urbana's offense was powered by junior Ashley Skinner, who homered for the second time on Spring Break. She finished with a team-best 3 RBIs in the victory. Senior Brooke Shultz continued her hot Spring Break with a 2 for 3 performance at the plate, and sophomore Amber Beeman finished 2 for 4 with an RBI against the Eagles.

Dating back to last season, the Blue Knight softball team has won 13 straight games, a new school record. Urbana's 7-0 start this season is the best in program history. The team will try to keep the streak alive next Thursday at Malone University. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
