NASHVILLE, Tenn. -  (courtesy @TNUsports) Trevecca athletes continue to raise their grade-point averages. In the fall of 2012 the 160 Trevecca athletes had a combined 3.156 grade-point average (GPA).

Trevecca athletics director Mark Elliott said, "I am proud of our athletes' efforts in the classroom, the high expectations of our coaches, and the academic support shown by faculty and staff."

In the spring of 2010, athletes had a noteworthy 3.0 GPA. After implementation of a new focus on academics, the average GPA for all student athletes rose to 3.10 for the fall 2010 semester. In the spring of 2011, Trevecca athletes raised the average again to a combined 3.108 GPA. After the fall 2012 semester, the athletes' cumulative GPA rose again—to 3.169.

In the fall of 2012, 58 of 160 Trevecca athletes were recognized on the Dean's List for their work in the fall semster. To make the Dean's List a student must have a 3.50 GPA for that semester.

Eight (8) of the 11 Trevecca athletic teams held at least a 2.911 GPA, and seven of the teams have a GPA higher than 3.091.

The Trevecca women's cross country and women's soccer teams were selected at NCCAA Scholar Teams for their team grade-point average this fall.

Fifteen (15) fall athletes made the NCCAA Scholar Athlete team for their respective sports. To be an NCCAA Scholar Athlete, one must be at least a junior academically and maintain a 3.4 or higher cumulative grade-point average.
