INDIANAPOLIS - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference has announced Ciara Geiger of Urbana University has been named G-MAC Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week for the fifth time in 11 weeks of basketball action this season.

Ciara Geiger has been named the G-MAC Men’s Basketball Athlete of the Week for the fifth time this year, winning the honor almost half of the season as this week’s award is the 11th of the season.
Urbana finished 2-0 this week, including a 71-59 win over G-MAC leaders Trevecca Nazarene University on Saturday. In the win over previously unbeaten Trevecca, Geiger led all scorers with 17 points on 5-of-7 shooting, including 4-5 from behind the arc. She scored 11 of her 17 points in the second half, while totaling five rebounds, four assists and three steals.
In the teams, non-conference 102-79 win over Wilberforce, Geiger scored 28 points on 11-13 shooting. She added five assists and a pair of steals. For the week, Geiger shot an incredible 80% (16-20) from the field, including 77.8% from three-point range (7- 9). She averaged 22.5 points, 4.5 assists, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.5 steals in the two wins.
The 28-point performance, was Geiger’s 11th 20-point game, while the rest of the conference has only 14 combined 20-point performances on the season. She continues to lead the conference with 18.8 points per game, 2.2 more than Ursuline’s Laura Campbell. She also leads the conference with 2.6 steals per game and shooting 43.2% from beyond the arc.
