Farleman breaks pentathlon record at NCCAA

MARION, Ind. - Laura Farleman broke her own school record in the pentathlon at the NCCAA Indoor Track & Field Championship hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University where the Lady Jackets placed ninth.

Farleman finished fourth in the pentathlon with 3,142 points. Her highest finish among the five events was in the 800 meters where she placed second in 2:28.83. She eclipsed the previous school pentathlon mark that she set three weeks earlier at Findlay (3,064).

Neola Putnam was fourth in the mile in 5:11.83. The top three finishers in each event earn All-America honors.

Elsewhere, Alexandra Archambault was fifth in the 3,000 meters in 10:27.81. Sixth-place finishes went to Lauren Callahan in the 800 (2:21.70), Valerie Kirk in the 60 meter hurdles (9.35), and Nicole Deneseus in the high jump (1.60m).

Cedarville totaled 25 points. Shorter won the 22-team competition with 149 points while Azusa Pacific was next at 144.50.
