Paige Rowan has been named the Women’s Soccer Athlete of the Week for the third time this season in five weeks of action. Rowan helped guide the Arrows to a 3-0 week, including a pair of conference wins, and improved their overall record to 8-4 and their conference record to 3-2.
The Arrows opened the week with a 5-0 win over Point Park, then followed it up a 4-0 win at Salem International. UC finished the week with a tight 2-1 win. Rowan recorded a hat-trick against Point Park, scoring the middle three goals and assisted on the game’s first goal.
In the team’s 4-0 shutout of Salem, Rowan scored her fourth goal of the week, scoring in the 65th minute to give Ursuline a 2-0 lead. She concluded her week with her biggest goal of the week, a game-winner against Ohio Valley in the 60th minute, just 39 seconds after Ohio Valley tied the game at 1-1.
For Rowan, her five goals and one assist have tied her for first with Jacoby Ziegler in points with 28 and goals with 12. She stands second in points per game and goals per game just behind Ziegler because she has played one more game than Ziegler. Her game-winning goal was her fourth of the season, which ranks first in the conference.
