Meeting for the 28th time in program history and for the first time in the Mayor's Cup, the Kentucky Wesleyan men's soccer team played Brescia to a 1-1 draw following 110 minutes of action. The Panthers are 2-5-2 after the tie.
Brescia went ahead 1-0 nine minutes into the game after James Anderson dribbled down the left side of the field before putting the ball in the right corner. Alex Degg recorded the assist for Brescia.
Sophomore Nikos Agisilaou put the ball past the Bearcats goalkeeper, Conner Braun, in the 88th minute on an assist by freshman Kurtis Roberts to tie the game at one apiece.
The Panthers had an attempt to score a game winning goal on a corner kick as time expired, but the attempt came up short. KWC outshot Brescia in regulation 18-14 and had the 8-2 advantage in corner kicks. Brescia played a man down the final four minutes of the second half and into overtime.
Neither team was able to score during the golden goal period. The Panthers outshot the Bearcats 25-15 and had the 11-3 edge in corner kicks. Sophomore Travis Rowland ended the night with three saves.
