INDIANAPOLIS - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference has named Grace Miorelli of Cedarville University the Women's Soccer Athlete of the Week after helping her team to a pair of conference wins.

Grace Miorelli has been named the Women’s Soccer Athlete of the Week for the first time this season after the freshman midfielder helped guide the Lady Jackets to a 2-1 week overall, with both wins coming in conference. Miorelli scored three times and added an assist in a dominating 7-1 win over Davis & Elkins, who currently stands second in the conference. Miorelli then played a big role in the team’s only goal against Alderson Broaddus, in their 1-0 shutout victory.
 
Against Alderson Broaddus, Miorelli fired a shot that required a diving save out of bounds to keep the game scoreless. She created a corner kick opportunity in the 60th minute for Cedarville, which she sent into the box. The ball was cleared back out to her side, where she chipped it back into the goal box, where the goalie mishandled the service attempt by Miorelli, and Elizabeth Cox found herself in the right place at the right time sending the ball into the net for the game’s only goal. No assist was given on the goal, but Miorelli was vital in the scoring effort from start to finish.

Against Davis & Elkins, Miorelli’s first of three goals proved to be the game-winner as she scored twice in the first half and then capped the scoring in the second with her third goal. Her first goal came with the Yellow Jackets up 1-0 at the 8:04 mark. Less than three minutes later, Miorelli scored once again to put CU up 3-0. The Lady Jackets took a 4-0 in the 14th minute as Miorelli assisted on a gaol by Elise Hurley.
 
Davis and Elkins posted its only goal in the 16th minute and the score remaining 4-1 at halftime. Cedarville extended the lead to 6-1 as Jacoby Ziegler recorded her second and third goal of the game, before Miorelli scored her first hat-trick of her career at Cedarville.
