Cameron Rivera has been named G-MAC Men’s Soccer Athlete of the Week after leading his team to a 2-0 win over previously unbeaten Cedarville over the weekend. The win places Davis and Elkins in a tie for first place in the G-MAC and also gives D&E the clearest path to the top overall seed.

In the Senator’s only game of the week, Rivera held Cedarville scoreless for the second time this season, their first shutout loss. Rivera made five saves on the afternoon, holding one of the best offenses from scoring. Coming into the week of action, the Yellow Jackets ranked ninth in the nation in scoring offense - posting 3.10 goals a game. In Cedarville’s previous four conference games, they had scored 21 goals, scoring at least three time in each game.

Rivera not only kept the Yellow Jackets off the board, he also contributed to the game-winning goal scored by James Pucci in the first half as he was credited with an assist on the goal.

For Rivera, it was his second shutout of the season, as he has allowed seven goals in six starts and nine total games. He has improved to 6-1 on the season with a 0.89 goals against average and has made 22 saves in 709 minutes played.
