INDIANAPOLIS - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference has announced that Maliek Daniels of Trevecca Nazarene University has been named the G-MAC Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week.

Maliek Daniels has been named the G-MAC Men’s Basketball Athlete of the Week. With the winter and semester break, this week’s winner covers a span of December 17, 2012 through January 6, 2013. Daniels guided his team to a 1-1 record over the break, leading the conference in scoring and rebounding over the time period with 24.5 rebounds and 9.5 rebounds per game.
 
In the Trojans three-point loss to Lincoln Memorial, Daniels scored a conference record tying 34 points, going 15-23 from the floor, including four three pointers. In the team’s only other contest over break, a two-point overtime win against Notre Dame College, Daniels pulled down 11 rebounds and chipped 15 points, with two assists, two blocked shots, and two steals.
 
With his scoring performance against Lincoln Memorial, Daniels moved into the G-MAC’s top five in scoring with a season average of 14.2 points per game. He also moved into a tie for second place with 6.6 rebounds per game on the season, and third in shooting (56.3%)
