YSU Collegiate Invitational Meet Results
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Arrows sent a split squad to the Youngstown State University College Invitational and despite being small in numbers, the team was big in results in a meet that featured many NCAA Division I institutions.
Rookie Bea Indurain turned in the top finish when she placed third in the 60 meter hurdles, clocking in at 9.08 seconds. She set the school record at Youngstown State on December 1st when she covered the distance in 8.97 seconds.
Indurain was also part of a trio that just missed qualifying for the 60 meter dash finals. Senior Melissa Zupec placed 10th (8.27), just ahead of freshman Jasmine Lett (8.28) while Indurain was 12th with a time of 8.32 seconds. Zupec’s time tied her season-best that she set last weekend. Lett already owns the school record of 8.10 seconds, also set at Youngstown State in the indoor season opener.
Lett came back later in the evening and placed 10th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.48 seconds, just missing her own school record of 26.38 seconds. Zupec placed 14th with a time of 26.93 seconds which was not only her personal best, but also the third best time in program history.
Senior Amanda Shay had a solid showing in the 500 meter event when she turned in a time of 1:26.08, good for 14th.
