BASKING SCORES FOUR GOALS IN TREVECCA'S 8-0 WIN

NEW CONCORD, Ohio - The Trevecca men's soccer team opened their 2012 season with a 8-0 win over Concord University in the Muskingum Invitational. Jonathan Baskin scored four goals in the win, quickly establishing a G-MAC record for goals and points. Trevecca scored four goals in each half.

Richie Reichenberger scored the first of his two goals at 16:32, assisted by Connor Inman, and at 22:20 Inman assisted on a Jonathan Baskin goal that put the Trojans up 2-0. Baskin didn't wait long to score his second when he found the back of the net at 26:23, Matt Raines assisted on the goal. Matthew Esquivel scored his first Trevecca goal of his career at 26:51 to cap the first half scoring.

The second half saw four more Trojan goals. Baskin scored his third on a penalty kick at 53:07, while Reichenberger scored his second goal of the game just seconds later with an assist from Holland Clement at 53:45.

Less than a minute later Baskin celebrated once again with a goal at 54:21. Rob Ward picked up his first Trevecca assist on the fourth Baskin goal. Samuel Mummert rounded out the Trojan scoring with his first Trojan goal at 74:48.

Goalkeeper Braydon Brown produced a shutout victory, totaling four saves for Trevecca. TNU scored four on Thompson Mitchell and added four more on Matt Hamilton in the second half. Mitchell had three saves while Hamilton had five. Trevecca had 30 shots with 16 of those on goal.
