HOWARD, Ohio - The Urbana University women's golf team finished in third place in a field of 5 NCAA D-II Ohio Independent squads after two days of golf at Ursuline College's Apple Valley Golf Course.  The Blue Knights dropped a spot from the Fall Preview Tournament featuring the same 5 teams.

Malone University leapfrogged the Blue Knights with team scores of 365 and 367.  Urbana carded scores of 389 and 388.  Walsh University won the Ohio Independent Championship with rounds of 345 and 335.

The Blue Knights were paced by freshman Lindsey Phillips.  Phillips fired rounds of 92 and 95 to claim a Top 10 finish in a field of 26.  Fellow frosh Kasey Caudill matched Phillips' Tuesday 95, but she shot a 96 on Monday to finish alone in 12th place.

Urbana's Amanda Rockhold showed the most improvement on Day 2 for the Blue Knights.  Rockhold's Tuesday round of 95 tied the team-best, and it was 6 strokes better than her Monday 101.  Shelby Link (101-103) and Carli Crawford (100-106) rounded out Urbana's scoring.

The Blue Knights' spring season is now complete.  Urbana finished 6-20 in the spring and 18-38 over the fall and spring seasons. [OIC Results]
