Ursuline ends season with loss at OIC's

URBANA, Ohio - The Ursuline softball team ended its 2012 season with a first round loss on the road to Urbana University on Wednesday afternoon. The game, which was officially scheduled for Monday afternoon, ended with Urbana advancing to the semifinals following a 9-1 victory in five innings over the Arrows.

Urbana jumped out to an early lead with four runs in the first inning, three more in the second inning, and two in the third to cap the scoring for the Blue Knights. Ursuline managed a run late in the game as Lauren Grana led off the fourth inning with a double and later scored on a RBI-single by Michele Hare.

Samantha Roberts collected the only other hit for Ursuline on the afternoon, a lead-off single in the top of the first inning. Ciara Seymour and Sarah Maxwell each pitched for the Arrows, giving up six hits each. Seymour started and was credited with the loss, giving up the first seven runs.
