TROUTVILLE, Va. - No. 2 seed Cedarville took an early lead and made it stand up for a 5-2 victory over No. 7 Emmanuel in a first round game at the NCCAA Softball National Tournament.
The Lady Jackets, 35-21 overall, scored three times in the top of the second inning and added another in the third for a 4-0 margin.
Rachel Bull went 3-for-4 at the plate with a double, an RBI, and a run scored. She also stole two bases.
Kelsey Wilson was 2-for-3 with a double. She scored a run, drove in another, and had one steal.
Winning pitcher Cecelia DeBartolo improved her record to 19-11. She allowed five hits and struck out two.
Cedarville meets No. 6 Campbellsville in a semifinal match-up on Friday at noon.
