Papini, Shuler named NCCAA All-American

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Trevecca Nazarene University softball players Natalie Papini and Heather Shuler have both been named Second Team NCCAA All-American for their accomplishments this past season. Papini and Shuler join Lauren Baker, who was named to the first team, as NCCAA All-Americans.

Papini, a sophomore righthander from Murfreesboro (Blackman HS), made 36 appearances in the circle this season, posting a record of 10-2 with an ERA of 1.48, while setting a new Trevecca softball record with eight saves. She allowed 59 hits and 24 runs in 94.1 innings, with 82 strikeouts and 22 walks.

Shuler, a sophomore outfielder from Nolensville (Ravenwood HS), batted .358 (54-151) with seven doubles, one triple, one home run, and 30 RBI's. She drew 16 walks, scored 29 runs, and posted a .437 on-base percentage.

Both athletes have already been named to the NCCAA All-Mideast Region Team and both have earned TranSouth Scholar-Athlete honors. Shuler was also named to the Capital One Academic All-District Team.
