PEPPER PIKE, Ohio - The Ursuline College golf program concluded its 2011-12 season with a victory over rival Notre Dame in a one-on-one match between the local rivals on Wednesday afternoon. Mikayla Young guided the Arrows with medalist honors, shooting an impressive round of 82.
For Young it was the third time this season that she has taken home medalist honors - twice in head-to-head matches and once at home in the Ursuline College Fall Tournament. She finished in the top ten five other times, meaning she was among the top ten in eight of the teams 11 events.
As a team, the Arrows top-four shot a team score of 371, while Notre Dame finished with a 387. Ursuline's score was the best of the season, topping its previous high of 384. Even more impressive was the improvement the team made from its last round, in which they shot 414.
Kodi Hall brought home third place for Ursuline, breaking 90 for the third time this season, and first time since Oct. 5 at the OIC Fall Preview Tournament. She played an consistant round, shooting 44 on the front and 44 on the back.
Chrissy Schaefer shot a personal-best for the season 97 (49-48) and finished fifth, while senior Nicole Lee, who played in the top spot in her final tournament of her career, rounded out the team score with a 104 (53-51). Laura Campbell, in her first collegiate golf match, shot a very impressive score for having no collegiate golf experience.
Notre Dame's Stephanie Wollman finsihed second with an 84, while teammate Natalie Briganti finsihed fourth with a 91.
