WILBERFORCE, Ohio - Central State University President John W. Garland has announced the appointment of Jahan Culbreath as Interim Athletic Director. He replaces Kellen B. Winslow Sr. whose appointment ends June 12.
Culbreath, a Central State graduate, has more than 20 years of experience as a track and field coach and athletics administrator. His appointment is effectively immediately.
In his current role as Associate Director of Athletics, Culbreath has been an active participant in all of the University's athletics planning, including transition into NCAA Division II membership, the formation of the new Great Midwest Athletic Conference (GMAC) of which Central State is a charter member and finalizing the university's membership in the Great Lakes Valley Conference where Central State will compete in football beginning this year.
“I am excited about the opportunity to build on the foundation in place and serve the University and our outstanding student athletes,” Culbreath said.
Winslow joined the University in August of 2008 as Athletic Director and was later named, Director of Athletics and Student Wellness. Winslow was responsible for moving the football program into the Great Lakes Valley Conference, and development of the successful Leadership Speaker series.
“Kellen has provided leadership and vision to the athletic department and established a greater presence for our CSU athletics. We are grateful for his contributions,” Garland said.
