CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Yellow Jacket soccer players James Twinem and Steve Ellis have been named to the 2011 NCCAA Division I All-America First Team.
The honors mark the eighth consecutive year that Cedarville has had at least a first or second team selection.
Twinem, a senior from Aylmer, Ontario, was one of four midfielders tabbed to the 14-player first team. He started all 23 matches and was the team’s leading scorer with 10 goals and 5 assists for 25 points.
Ellis, a junior from Irwin, Pa., was among four defenders chosen. He also started all 23 matches and contributed three assists.
Ryan Connelly was CU’s lone NCCAA Scholar-Athlete which includes juniors and seniors with a minimum 3.40 cumulative grade point average. He is a senior AYA social studies education major from Bronson, Iowa.
The NCCAA Midwest Region champion Yellow Jackets ended the campaign with an overall record of 14-6-3. They placed third at the national tournament.
