Rice, Campbell, Snell on OIC All-Star Teams

WILBERFORCE, Ohio - Greg Rice, Central State University’s 6’4" senior guard, has been selected as Player of the Year in a vote by coaches from the Ohio Independent Championships for the 2011-12 season.
 
Rice is joined on the men’s All-Star squad by teammate Gerald Campbell, a 6’5 senior forward, who was named to the second team.
 
The Lady Marauders Iniquia Snell, a 5-7 sophomore guard, who was named to the All-Tournament Team of the OIC Championships Tournament, also was an All-Star second team selection by the women’s coaches. The men’s coaches did not select an All-Tournament team.
 
The Ohio Independent Championships provides post-season playoff opportunities for seven Ohio institutions in select sports with competition completed before the NCAA Division II regional and national championships.
 
Participating schools include NCAA Division II members Central State and Urbana University as well as five schools who are currently in the Division II membership process – Cedarville University, Malone University, Notre Dame College, Ursuline College (women’s sports only) and Walsh University.
 
Central State, Cedarville, Urbana and Ursuline are charter members of the new Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC). The G-MAC is currently working toward recognition as the 24th NCAA Division II conference. Walsh and Malone will be full members of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) next season and Norte Dame will be an associate member.
