INDIANAPOLIS – The Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) officially unveiled the league’s logo on Thursday, the anchor of the new conference’s branding initiative. The G-MAC launched the logo just days after receiving approval as a member conference of NCAA Division II.

The official logo, which was created by Cedarville University Creative Services, will assist the G-MAC in developing awareness of the new league and its institutions.

The six charter members of the G-MAC include Cedarville University (Cedarville, Ohio), Central State University (Wilberforce, Ohio), Kentucky Wesleyan College (Owensboro, Ky.), Trevecca Nazarene University (Nashville, Tenn.), Urbana University (Urbana, Ohio) and Ursuline College (Pepper Pike, Ohio).

“The G-MAC is thrilled to announce the official release of our logo,” said G-MAC Commissioner Tom Daeger. “It is a strong and detailed design that illustrates the strength and resolve of our membership. It will be a tremendous symbol for our league as we introduce the G-MAC as the newest NCAA Division II conference.”

“It is my belief the logo’s unique hexagonal shape will come to symbolize the diverse, yet philosophically aligned institutions of the G-MAC and the league’s commitment to the six attributes that define a student-athlete’s experience in Division II.”

Chad Jackson, Creative Director at Cedarville University, and Joshua Wurzelbacher, Graphic Designer, led the design of the G-MAC logo, which includes a primary mark, a wordmark and two secondary marks in full, grayscale and one-color options.

“I cannot commend Chad, Joshua and the entire Cedarville creative team enough,” stated Daeger. “They worked diligently to develop a brand that our membership can embrace and illustrated the dedication to detail and quality that I have quickly come to realize is the standard at their institution.”

In conjunction with the unveiling of the official logo, the G-MAC has also launched several social media sites which include a blog (g-macsports.com), Facebook page (facebook.com/greatmidwestathleticconference) and Twitter account (twitter.com/greatmidwestac). The media sites were introduced to allow the G-MAC to share news and information concerning the new league in advance of the launch of the official G-MAC website which is anticipated to be available in late spring.
