NASHVILLE, Tenn. (courtesy of @TNUsports) - The Trevecca volleyball team placed three players on the 2012 NCCAA All-Mid-East Region Team. Highlighted by Kristen Johnson being selected as the 2012 NCCAA Mid-East Region Player of Year. Johnson was named to the first team, while Loren Bennett and Persephonie Devereaux were selected to the second team.

Kristen Johnson, a 5-9 junior right side hitter from Franklin, Tenn., is the only player to rank in the top ten in five of six G-MAC statistical categories. The four-time G-MAC Athlete of the Week posted 17-triple doubles on the season.

The Independence High School graduate ranks fourth in hitting (.251); fourth in kills (3.05), but is second with 421 overall kills;  sixth in assists (4.07), seventh in blocks (0.48), and eighth in digs (2.93). Her 0.23 service aces per game are just outside the top-ten, but her 32 service aces overall are better than four of the current top ten.

Bennett, a 5-6 freshman setter from Ooltewah, Tenn., finished first on the team in digs (560), third in assists (201), and fourth in service aces (29). Devereaux, a 6-0 junior middle blocker from Tehachapi, Calif., finished first on the team in blocks (25) and block assists (69), and second in kills (277).

The trio led the Trojans to a 23-win season, which is the second most in coach Jayme Crowley's tenure at Trevecca. The team tied for second in the G-MAC regular season and reached the finals of the G-MAC tournament.

This season produced the fourth 20–win team in coach Jayme Crowley's five-year tenure at Trevecca. Only her 2009 team has produced more wins when they finished 25-13. Eleven of the last 15 Trevecca teams have won at least 20 matches.

Coach Crowley has produced a 107-72 overall record and is 40-23 in conference play. Her postseason record is now 10-9.
