VIENNA, W.Va. (Courtesy of @UUsports) - After a buzzer-beater loss in Saturday's season opener, the Urbana University women's basketball team picked up their first win of the season on the road at Ohio Valley University on Tuesday night.  The Blue Knights led comfortably for most of the night, holding on for a 68-58 victory over the Fighting Scots.

The Blue Knights never trailed after the opening minute of the game and their lead grew to as many as 18 early in the second half, despite shooting just 4-of-24 from behind the arc.

An inside-outside, one-two punch of Kate Francisco and Ciara Geiger powered the Urbana offense.  Francisco notched her first double-double as a Blue Knight, scoring 17 while pulling down a game-high 13 rebounds.

Geiger buried her first six shots on her way to a game-high 21 points, but she fell one rebound shy of a double-double.  Her nine boards tied a career-high.  Sophomore Katy Barkley chipped in seven points and seven rebounds in the win.

Urbana (1-1) hosts area rival Ohio Dominican on Saturday afternoon in the team's home opener.  The Panthers handed Urbana a seven-point loss in last year's regular season finale. Urbana will attempt to avenge that loss at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
