INDIANAPOLIS - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference has announced its first-ever Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week. Zimmy Nwogbo of Cedarville University earns the honor, averaging 26 points per game and 13.5 rebounds over the two games.

Zimmy Nwogbo has been named the season’s first G-MAC Men’s Basketball Athlete of the Week following his outstanding performance in the Yellow Jackets opening weekend.
In the team’s season opener, a double-overtime loss to Holy Family, Nwogbo scored a team-high 23 points on 8-15 shooting and 7-10 from the free throw line. He also pulled down a game-high 21 rebounds (10 offensive and 11 defensive). His 11 defensive rebounds alone matched the second best rebounding total in the game.
The next night, Cedarville dropped a high-scoring affair with the #1 team in the nation, falling 105-92 to West Liberty. Nwogbo scored a career-high and game-high 29 points on 13-17 shooting and making all three of his attempts from the charity stripe. He grabbed six rebounds and added a game-high four steals.
