Urbana University - Sophomore

For the second time this season, Kelsey Volkmer has been named G-MAC Volleyball Athlete of the Week. She guided the Blue Knights to a perfect 2-0 week, while recording an amazing 45 kills in two matches.

In the first match of the week, a 3-0 road win over conference foe Central State, Volkmer recorded 14 kills to go with a pair of aces and a block. Her week was highlighted when she recorded 31 kills and eight digs in a 3-2 win at Notre Dame College.

Her 31 kills in a match are the second most in school history, second only to her own 37-kill match in a win two weeks ago against Trevecca Nazarene when she was named G-MAC Player of the Week

She leads the team in kills (278), kills per game (3.81), and solo blocks (17), while ranking second on the squad in hitting percentage (.268) and total blocks (30). Volkmer has recorded double-digit kills in seven-straight matches, and is averaging 21.7 kills per match and 5.43 kills per set over that stretch.
